The St. Xavier class of 2008 has done what no group in St. Xavier's long football tradition have done: an Ohio state championship. Twice.

Two members from the St. X secondary will continue their playing careers at Georgetown, including safety Tim Bayer.

Bayer, a second team all-conference selection, combined for 35.5 tackles and four interceptions during the Bombers' 15-0 season in 2007, a season which saw St. X hold its opponents to an average of 8.8 points per game. The Bombers were nationally ranked by USA Today in each of the last three seasons.

Bayer, along with Georgetown signee Gerry Reilly, are among 13 St. X seniors to sign with colleges this spring.
