![]() Georgetown Football: 2008 Recruit Profiles
Following a pair of championship seasons, St. Anthony's QB James Brady is one of a number of talented candidates that could be Georgetown's quarterback of the future. Brady comes from a Friar program which has owned New York's CHSFL the last decade, with seven straight titles. In his two seasons on the varsity, St. Anthony was 21-1, and Brady was a big part of it. He threw for 2,960 yards in his two seasons, with 18 passing touchdowns. Brady was also a threat on the ground, rushing for 1,057 yards on 176 carries, with 11 touchdowns. St. Anthony, ranked #12 statewide by MaxPreps.com, helped make Brady a bonafide Division I recruiting target. Prior to his senior season, Brady took part in combines at Rutgers, Syracuse, and Missouri. With a 4.68 run in the 40 and the Friars' strong season, Brady was ranked just outside the top 100 quarterbacks in the nation by Scout.com. He selected Georgetown over strong interest at Army and offers with New Hampshire and Lafayette. In contrast to previous Georgetown offenses which emphasized the option, Brady was a pro-style QB at St. Anthony's. "My biggest strengths are my footwork and my arm strength," Brady told Scout.com. "I really believe that my footwork sets me apart. Outside of the pocket I am more of a running back than a quarterback.” “I would compare my game to Chase Daniel. I am about the same size as him, and we are close to the same on the field. I watched some of his junior highlights and he is very similar. I just try to mimic my game after him.”
