There's "medium interest" and there's "strong interest". For Mike McIntyre, the latter made all the difference.

McIntyre grew up a hockey player in Portage, MI and only started playing football in 10th grade. Originally a tight end, he was switched to offensive line at Mattawan HS his junior season. He received interest from I-A schools in the state of Michigan for his potential, which ranked him among the top 25 lineman in the state for the class of 2008.

With only two years of organized football to date, schools like Michigan, Michigan State, and Western Michigan may have been hesitant with an offer, and thus recruiting services listed "medium interest" beside these schools. Not so for Georgetown, which will add McIntyre to a growing lineup of top candidates at the offensive line.

McIntyre is also a basketball forward in high school, averaging about 11 points per game.
