Georgetown Football: 2008 Recruit Profiles

 Kyle Miller
Position: Safety
Height: 6-0
Weight: 185
High School: Jesuit College Prep
Home Town: Dallas, TX
Highlights: All-district, second team; All-state, honorable mention
National Ranking: None

"Kyle Miller of Dallas Jesuit is the fastest safety we've looked at so far (4.4 in the 40), and that should be enough to get his foot in the door somewhere," wrote Texas Football at the onset of the spring singing period. "Expect to see him choose somewhere very soon -- probably one of the academies."

Instead, Miller will join Georgetown's roster in 2008, selecting GU over offers from Army, Navy, Air Force, and Colorado State, according to Rivals.com.

Miller was one of those all-purpose players that rarely grabs the headlines but just gets things done. The team's MVP as a junior, Miller rushed for 600 yards for the Rangers in 2006, leading them into the Texas 5A playoffs. Moved to the secondary his senior year, Miller filled in at tailback and while his yardage went down (292 yards), his proficiency went up (eight TD's). He moved to safety, combining for 30 tackles and 6 TFL's. He was named an honorable mention All-State selection for his efforts.

The 6-0 senior was especially proficient at kick returns, averaging 32 yards a return last season.

Miller is projected to find a home in the Georgetown secondary, but with his speed and skill, expect to see a him contributing across the board for future Hoya teams.
