I graduated in '97 from the Business School - Have followed and loved Georgetown Hoops since birth as I grew up watching games on my dad's lap (GSB '69) - I'm currently working in Rutherford, NJ for a college sports marketing company (we represent the NCAA) - One of my greatest memories is attending the '85 Big East Championship Game when the Hoyas beat Chris Mullin and the Johnnies - I still remember going to the post-game party at Hotel Pennsylvania with my blue & gray pom-poms! Favorite players: Patrick, Joey Brown, Jerome Williams, Ya Ya and Joe Touomou.

I'm a Georgetown fan from New York City. Mike Graham is my favorite Hoya of all time...I hate Uconn because they have become what we once were...The only thing I hate about the Hoyas is all those damn substitutions...I look forward to speaking to passionate Hoya fans like Nevada Hoya, Keino and Wilson Blvd....Besides the Villanova loss my all time low as a Hoya was when Phil Henderson of Duke dunked on Alonzo Mourning in the Meadowlands 1n 1989...I can't believe we did not win a championship or reached the final four in the Mourning era....Why do the Hoyas have trouble developing great wing playes ie....Anthony Jones, Milton Bell, Mike Tate, Jerry Nichols?

I have been following the Hoyas since 1980. I was in 7th grade at the time, but loved watching the Hoyas. Although I did not go to Georgetown, I have have always been a fan. I am excited about the future of the Hoyas.

My name is Neil and I live in the DC area. I've been a Hoya fan it seems forever. I did not attend Georgetown, however, the Hoyas have a great tradition and I'm a big fan of the program and the school. I don't like Maryland and Hope one-day soon that Georgetown will take over the reign of becoming the true hope school of this area again.

I'm a '94 SFS grad and season ticket holder. I was a UConn fan growing up, but made the switch for good when the Hoyas beat Duke in the Big East - ACC Challenge in November 1990. I still live in the DC area, where I work in telecommunications consulting. Don Reid is my favorite player - nobody ever worked any harder on the court than he did. My favorite moment, of course, is the Hoyas' victory over Weber State in the 1995 tournament, when Reid was in the right place at the right time...

I am from Toronto, Ontario, Canada now living in Ottawa and have been a Hoya Fan since 1982. I am so excited to be associating with so many like-minded individuals. Georgetown has been a passion, nay, an obsession of mine to which my wife can attest. I have been there through all of the recent successes (NCAA's 1982, '84,'85,' 96) and the failures which include any year we get bumped from the dance we helped create. Truth be told, from Floyd to Sweetney and during all of the Hoya Paranoia years Georgetown Basketball has cast a large shadow over the basketball landscape. They brought excitement and passion to a sport that was evolving. They ushered in an new era of hoopdom. God Bless them.

Fav player: Reggie Williams. Reggie and the Miracles of 1987 were a sight to behold. That '87 team also provided me with some of my favourite memories as Reggie pushed aside two All-American stand-outs (Dennis Hopson- Ohio State, and Danny Manning- Kansas) on the way to the Regional Finals where they could of played a Syracuse team they dominated all year long in the Final Four.

Disappointments: Michael Graham and Victor Page

Long Live Georgetown.

Hoya fanatic since 74-75 season when I coincidentally came to G-Town with my high school classmate Derrick Jackson. Favorite Hoyas - Derrick, Sky, Sleepy, Reggie and Zo - and not Bobby Winston despite the fact that he was tall and could see over the defense. Favorite Hoya moment - Jim Masters of Kentucky trying to guard David Wingate in the second half of the 84 National semi.

I am a New Orleanian who lived in WDC from '80 to '86. I was a season ticket holder from '82 until I returned home. Fell in love w/ the Hoyas, and big JT. Saw some absolutely fantastic basketball. Looking back, my time in WDC was one of the happiest in my life, due in no small part to Hoya basketball! My favorite Hoya of all time is, no doubt, Eric Floyd. Too many wonderful Hoya moments to pick one, but I really used to love beating Syracuse and ST. Johns! Steve Martin, whom I am sure many of you remember attended the same high school I did, though quite a few years after me. I finished Harvard in '76, Stanford Business School in '80. (Board lurker since Jan '99.)

I came to Georgetown in the fall of 1997, and joined the Pep Band so that I could see the basketball team as much as possible--this was the BEST decision I made in four years at Gtown. My tenure included 3 NIT appearances (none of which I actually got to attend), but was capped off by a storybook run to the Sweet-16 where i witnessed "the greatest day on one court in the history of college basketball" (Dick Viatale on Boise). During my sophmore year I joined with a few other Hoyas to found Hoya Blue, to build excitement about Hoya sports so that we can all say, "I Bleed Hoya Blue."

Hey Hoya fans, my name is Jon, the craziest Gtown fan you'll ever meet. A DC native, I was born at Georgetown Hospital and grew up in Northwest. I now attend UNC but believe me, I have no love for Tar Heel basketball-- I'm a Hoya fan for life. My Dad is GU '72 and we grew up making that awful drive to the Capital Center to watch the Hoyas. My favorite Hoya EVER is still Charles Smith. He was a great Hoya and I met him at game while he was still in the NBA and got his autograph. My other favorites include Boubacar Aw, Dwayne Bryant (my counselor at John Thompson basketball camp), Allen Iverson, Victor Page (he deserved Big East Player of the Year in '97, no question), and Nat Burton. I will always love Big John but I also like Coach Esh and the direction he has the program going now. I get lots of slack down here on Tobacco Road for loving the Hoyas and hating the Heels (only team I hate worse: Duke-- I despise that school), but I will always proudly represent Gtown Bball.

I have been a Hoya season ticket holder since the mid-1970s and have attended the games, the Big East tournaments and the various NCAA games at a variety of sites. Each year has brought great enjoyment for myself and my tow boys who have joined me at the games. My favorite games were an overtime victory over Syracuse with 6'4" pivotman Perry McDonald outplaying Syracuse center Rony Seikaly and a 1987 game against Pittsburgh where the Hoyas were down by about 19 at the half and Reggie Williams led a second half comeback against the Pitt Panthers. I guess you could also add the Joey Brown last second basket to give the Hoyas a victory against UConn as another great game.

Since the season hasn't yet started, I am anxious to get all news, guidance, and other information any current or former Hoyas can give me to make the 2001-2002 season one for the ages. Hoya fan since mid' 80's as I watched my all-time favorite - Reggie, dominate. As big of a fan I am I have never seen a Hoya Home game live. I live in CT. (I know it's pathetic living here) and have been to 29 Hoya games including games at PC, BC, SH, SYR, RUT, CT, and have been to every BE tournament since 1991. Although greatly outnumbered at every game, I do my best to cheer for the Gray and Blue !

I Have Been a Hoya Fan since I was Nine Years Old and watched the Hoyas in the 1982 National Championship Game. I have been to every game the hoyas have played in Providence since 1984 and witness some great games vs. pc from 87(even though they lost Reggie put on a show) the great comeback in '89 and great wins in '92,'95 and '97. I was at the regionals in '85 and the 1st and 2nd round in '89 where I had the once in a lifetime chance of working both there practices at Rhode Island College (My Father worked at the college). Even though times have been tough on Hoya basketball the last few years they are one of the few programs who do it right- they win and lose with class and there kids go to school. So I look forward to joining the board and talking Hoya Basketball.

I'm a Hoya fan since '82 , when I was 11. I was born in D.C. and grew all over the metro area ( essentially Landover , MD ) . My favorite moment was the ' 84 champs in Seattle , worst was the ' 82 and ' 85 games we shoulda won . My favorite Hoyas of all-time are Dwayne Bryant and Allen Iverson , mainly cause I ran the point in hs. I live in Alabama , where I have resided for the last 9 years , since graduating from Fairmont Heights High in Capitol Heights , MD. I attended Alabama A&M University and graduated in ' 95 with a BS in Social Work . I have been working for FedEx for a little over two years and am happilly married with 2 year old son. I've been contributing to this page for about 2 years and love the info and feedback. Most of the contributors are real knowledgeable and that helps cause we get Hoya news down here slowly.

My favorite Hoya of all-time is Dwayne Bryant, because he was a true PG in every since of the word and was so smooth and fluid. My favorite moment was when we won it all in '84. Worst moment was a tie between the disappointment of '82 and the no show in '96.

My grandmother used to live around the corner from Big John and knew him well. I met him and Ronny on a visit to his house once when I was about 7 or 8. I bleed blue and gray. Cried when Barros hit the trey at the buzzer in the Garden. Cried when Smitty bust 37 on Prov at the Civic Center. That was beautiful!! My e-mail address is mcdowell@hiwaay.net .... Hoyas 4life...

I became a Hoya fan at the age of 7 when I watched the Hoyas play in the NCAA Tournament back in 1982. We won the West Region and advanced all the way to the NCAA Title game. I became addicted to Hoya basketball. I loved their intensity, defense, rebounding, athleticism and the spirit of Hoya Paranoia. Of course my first idol became Patrick Ewing. Even as young elementary student my entire life revolved around the Hoyas basketball season. When we won I was the happiest young child in the world and when we lost I couldn't communicate with a human being on the planet. I have spent my entire life stuck in Wisconsin, but have been fortunate enough to see the Hoyas play in person 3 different times. The 2000-01 season marks my 20th year of living and dying with the Hoyas from November to March. My favorite Hoyas of all time are Patrick Ewing, Alonzo Mourning, Dikembe Mutombo and Othella Harrington.

I have been a Hoya fan since the 1982 season. By living in Southern Illinois, this was my first exposure to the Georgetown program. I was 10 years old and that team left a lasting impression. My favorite players were Ewing, Reggie, Smitty and Zo. My favorite moment was the 84' NCAA Championship and the 89' Big East Tourney. Worst moment has to be the 85' Championship and the 90' loss to Xavier in the second round. I was there and I still can't figure out how Tillmon's shot didn't go down.

I have visited the campus once and everyone from the athletic department to the Hoya Hoop Club made me feel right at home. The program has a family feel to it that is very impressive. I love what JT did for the program and I feel good about Coach Esherick taking over. I will always support the program, player, and coach during good times and bad. GO HOYAS!!!!

I am a member of the College class of 2001 who will be going to medical school next year in Newark. I am from New Jersey and have been a Hoya basketball fan since the days of Alonzo Mourning in 1988. My first memory of the Hoyas was watching them almost lose to princeton in the first round of the NCAA's, and I was a big fan of John thompson and his big man tradition of Patrick, Zo, Dikembe, and the big fella Othella. I didn't even know G'town was a good school until I started appplying to colleges so my dream of being a Hoya came true when I became a Hoya. Favorite Hoya of all time: Joey Brown.

I have been a Hoya fan for as long as I can remember. Although I am only a junior at GU, I grew up with my dad a diehard fan (and alum), and I have supported Georgetown with a passion only equalled by my passion for the Red Sox. I rejoiced in '84, but I cried myself to sleep in '85 (give me a break, I was seven years old). I was there in '89 when Alonzo blocked Kit Mueller's shot at the Providence Civic Center. I have been there for virtually every game GU has played at BC, PC, and UCONN since 1984, which certainly has created some heartbreak for me. I was there at the Big East tournament in '96, when Jerome was fouled (although he should have made it anyway) and Ray Allen got lucky. My favorite Hoya of all-time is definitely Charles Smith (I used to paint a blue Smitty beard on my face before every GU game back in the day), although I must admit I love 'em all. I have endured some tough times since coming to the Hilltop myself, although I am currently studying in Dublin and thus unable to give myself further pain by watching this year's team (thank God). Thanks to everyone on the board who keeps me up to date on both the games and the recruiting news.

From Kansas City, graduated from the College in 1998. Pretty much a Mizzou fan growing up, but now I bleed blue & gray. I'm in the pep band so I've been to all the games since freshman year. Favorite player has to be Don Reid and my favorite moment was Reid's tip-in at the buzzer to beat Weber State. I was in the front row underneath that basket and the band just went crazy. My other favorite player was Iverson and his best moment was in '96 on Big Monday vs. UConn where he opened the second half with a monster dunk right over some Husky. Incredible play for a 6 foot guard.

Graduated from Georgetown in 1998 with a degree in English. I currently am a first-year law student at Fordham University in New York. Prior to that, I was a researcher and writer for CBS Sports in New York. I still work weekends for CBS when time permits.

I absolutely love the Hoyas. A major reason I chose to come to Georgetown was my love for the basketball program. I remember my first Midnight Madness freshman year when Iverson made his debut in a Georgetown uniform. Incredible. I will forever be hooked.

To all the Hoya fans living in New York City, I am always up to go somewhere and watch the game. I also go to the Big East tournament every year, and look forward to meeting some other posters who live in New York.

One final note to those who are currently enrolled at Georgetown. Does the campus radio station (WGTB) still run the sports-quiz bowl? For anyone who was around in 1997-1998, myself and a Matt Graham ran the contest out of the old Basement in the Leavey Center, complete with beer, buzzers and plenty of controversy. I heard that they haven't kept it up since my graduation. They really should. It was a lot of fun and a good way for sports fans to meet on campus and have a good time.

I grew up in DC and have been Hoya fan all my life. For people in DC, Hoya B-Ball is tho only real B-ball we get to see, because the Bullets/Wizards are just plain awful. I admire the program that John Thompson built and I am proud at the way Craig Eschrick has carried the torch. Not only has the program produced quality pros but also quality people. It's very exciting to see the Hoyas on their way back to National Prominence. I remember the pass that Fred Brown threw away to James Worthy and I cried (I was 9 years old). I remember Ewing dominating Olajuwan in the Finals. I remember Reggie and the Miracles.....I am a Hoya Fan for life!

Although I am not a student or alum, I might be the biggest Hoya fan in the wonderful state of Pennsylvania. I will graduate from Penn State in spring of 2002. Georgetown should really consider scheduling PSU - slowest, smallest, whitest team known to man. I became a fan as a little boy watching Alonzo dominate in the late 80's and early 90's. If there is one thing i like most about basketball, it is watching big guys dunking, rebounding and blocking shots. And no one is better at producing big men then the Hoyas. Win or lose I will always be a Hoya fan.

I was sports editor of The Georgetown Voice during the 91-92 academic year and have been a men's season-ticket holder since returning to the D.C. area in 1996. My first Georgetown game was GU-Duke, when Mourning and Mutumbo beat Laettner and Hurley in the 1990 Big East-ACC challenge. My fondest Georgetown sports memory was watching Nikki Reid hit a three-pointer at the buzzer to beat Penn State and send the 1993 women's team to the Sweet 16.
