I am die hard sports fan who has been following Georgetown Basketball since 1982. Due to my interest in Hoya Basketball, I began to closely follow High School Recruiting. Since 1988, I have attended numerous High School Basketball events in order to formulate my own opinions regarding the nation's best High School Basketball players. During this time, I have attended the Nike All-American Camp, the Adidas ABCD Camp, the DE Shootout, the Future Stars Tournament, the Five Star Basketball Camp, the Slam Dunk to the Beach, the Krider Tournament, and many others. In no particular order, the following individuals are the 21 best High School Players that I have evaluated in person. The ratings are based on performance and potential: Alonzo Mourning ('88), Shawn Kemp ('88), Shaquille O'Neal ('89), Kenny Anderson ('89), Anfernee Hardaway ('90), Chris Webber ('91), Jason Kidd ('92), Rasheed Wallace ('93), Jerry Stackhouse ('93), Randy Livingston ('93), Allen Iverson ('94), Felipe Lopez ('94), Kevin Garnett ('95), Stephon Marbury ('95), Vince Carter ('95), Kobe Bryant ('96), Tim Thomas ('96) Tracy McGrady ('97), Rashard Lewis ('98), Dermarr Johnson ('99), Jonathan Bender ('99).

I enjoy discussing Georgetown Basketball, and look forward to providing scouting reports and recruiting information.

My nickname is rather unoriginal, but, thats what everyone calls me. I go to WVU . I've loved the Hoyas my entire life. I met JT when I was little and was a fan immediately. My favorite GT moment was Smitty going coast to coast while Syracuse was celebrating. My favorite G-town experience overall was when I was at the Kenner League and Iverson showed up out of the blue and scored 40 points. I have never seen such a display of raw talent that equals the things he did in those three games. I live in Oakton Va.

It's enough to say that I have been a fan since I was a student and the Jack Magee coached Hoyas held Pistol Pete Maravich to 20 points in the 1970 NIT. Mike Laska did a great job on Maravich.

I am a senior at the College here at Georgetown (1999) and have basketball on the brain. I may be staying at least one more semester next year, and if all goes well, will stick around for the conclusion of the season, and our run to the final four! Fortunately for me, it appears that we have a strong recruiting class, with a promising young core of players who will be more mature and experienced by next fall.

I am a huge HOYA basketball fan, and have followed the Hoyas since the Ewing era, even though I was only a small kid back then. I am also an avid Knicks fan and therefore am glad to see David Wingate and Patrick Ewing together along with an interesting supporting cast. I have hardly missed a home game over the last four years, and have made many trips to away games both in the New York and Philadelphia area. Most of these trips were made with my good pal D-Rock. We both have been through thick and thin, and approach each and every game optimistically, and with confidence and faith in these bunch of young student athletes. We have also been known on occasion to rally the troops, and even have been guest-bartenders at HOYAS (on campus) when Georgetown plays away games.

I love Ewing and of course "The Answer", and must admit I am a big fan of Victor Page and believe he will make it to the big game. As far as my own skills go, I can post up in Yates, and like to rebound and shoot from within 15 feet. My game needs some work, but as a fan I am the real deal. GO HOYAS!!!

C'58, Michiganian (former NYC), empty nester, followed the Hoyas since the mediocre 50s and Buddy Jannette. Thompson's transition of the Georgetown program has given me many moments of joy (and a little heartbreak). When the Hoyas are unranked, we in the Detroit area see very little of them on TV and the talkboard keeps me updated and raises my hopes about future prospects.

I have been a Hoyas fan since the first time I watched them play, that was the game against Villanova for the National Championship. My favorite Hoya player is Alonzo Mourning. My favorite GU moment is when Smitty raced the length of the floor to hit the winning basket while SU fans were going nuts. I will be a Hoyas fan until the day I die.

Mr G/S aka Mr Georgetown/Sixers. Home town: Washington, DC but I now live on Maryland's Eastern Shore. Occupation: Budget Analyst/GU Connnection: None. Graduated from Bowie State University and obtained my Masters Degree from Central Michigan University. How long have followed the team? All my life. Favorite player-Allen Iverson. Favorite moment-went on a bus trip with the Hoya Hoop Club to MSG to see the Hoyas take on St. John's University. Well, first of all, everyone who went on the trip didnt have seating together, so that kinda sucked b/c all of the Hoya fans was separated; thus, making it kinda hard for us to make a lot of noise for our team. Well we got to MSG safely and my friend and myself found our seats. Five minutes into the game while I'm cheering for the Hoyas everytime we make a basket this fat guy turns around and tells me to be quite. So being the type of person I am, I cuss him out and his two friends out and I say "Look here, I'm coming all the way from DC and I will cheer for who I want to cheer for and you or no one else is going to stop me." So at any rate while I am going off on this guy one of his friends goes to get a usher. So the usher comes over and calls myself and friend over and says "you can't use profanity at the games" and I was like "Profanity? I wasn't even using profanity, I was just telling those dummies up there that they were not going to tell me who I was going to cheer for" So the usher said "OK, to make things better I'm going to move you two to a different seat. "

So I went back to our original seats to get my GU hat that I had just purchased and the hat was mysteriouly gone. I didnt sweat it though and just went to the new seats the usher gave us which were closer anyway. So my friend and I took our GU pom poms and the GU clapper that we got from one of the Hoya home games and went to our seats. So everytime the Hoyas scored I would cheer and shake my GU clapper. So the next thing I know I here this "shut up w/ that clapper before I shove it up your @#$" So I turned to my friend and said "I know I just didn't hear what I thought I heard," so I continued to cheer and clap my clapper when the Hoyas scored. So once again I heard a male voice screaming down from above saying "shut up w/ that clapper or I'll come down there and shove it up your @#$!"

So I turn around looking for this guy and I see this guy and tell him to come on down and do it and I continue shaking my clapping w/ even more enthusiasm! Needless to say he didn't come down b/c at that point I was really p--ssed at these NY fans.

So I turn back around to enjoy the game, which was a good one, and this lady says to me "Can you stop that b/c its annoying!" and I'm like "This is annoying but the guy up there cussing at me, is not?" She didn't respond to that and I kept on shaking my clapper. After about ten minutes the usher, a different one this time, calls me and the guy cussing at me out into the hallway and says "If you two keep it up you are both going to get thrown out!"

I was like "Look, are you saying I can't use my clapper when my team scores?" and he said "Yeah, you can use that, but that is it. I don't want anymore out of you two or you are both out." So he lets the guy and myself go back to our seats and 2 minutes after we sit down the guy starts again and I said something back to him and the usher just happend to see the verbal exchange and calls both of us again.

By this time we (my friend and myself) had the entire section behind the basket chating "a---hole, a---hole" at me and my friend walked past them to go into the hallway. So the usher once again took the guy, my friend, and myself out in the hallway this time though the usher calls his supervisor over and they go to the side to discuss the situation. They come back and say "We are going to move you 2 again," referring to my friend and myself. The next thing we know, we are 2 rows behind the GU bench on the same row as Mike Jackson, Pat Ewing, and several other former Hoyas. The game was very close and Victor Page was in one of his famous slumps but w/ 20 some seconds left in the game Page hit a runner to seal the game and Ya-Ya hit some crucial free throws to hold off the Red Storm. Needless to say, I will never forget my first visit to MSG.

I have been a Hoya fan since the 1984 NCAA Tournament, when I was in second grade. Since then the Hoyas have become a major fixture in my life. In third grade I cried after the Villanova loss. In sixth grade I won an essay contest with a story about Alonzo Mourning, who was then a high school senior. During my middle school years I wore Hoya clothing every day. My first article was one of those blue satin jackets with Georgetown across the front. I got that when I was in fifth grade. After that I had basically everything that came out. Now it is virtually impossible to find anything bearing the Hoya logo up here in CT. Today I teach in Meriden, CT and follow everything that has to do with GU hoops. Reading the message board is one of my main priorities each day.

Grew up a Holy Cross fan because that was my father's alma mater. Since my uncle taught at Georgetown, I soon gravitated to rooting for the Hoyas. My earliest memory of being at a Georgetown game was in 1960 or '61 in Madison Square Garden with my father and the Hoyas were playing NYU. We were seated right behind the WGTB announcers. When I decided to go to GU, the rubicon was crossed and from then on, nobody but the Hoyas.

Two players stand out in my years at GU - Jim Barry, who was All East his sophomore year (freshmen ineligible days), and Jim Brown, whom Red Auerbach called the best college passer since Bill Bradley. One other player stands out for what he has accomplished since, Gen. Jimmy Jones, the commandante of the US Marine Corps. In the 35 years since my graduation I have only seen the Hoyas play in person about four or five times - one at the NIT, when the Hoyas held Pete Maravich to 20 points and the three or four times they have played UNLV out in Las Vegas. I am also a big Georgetown track and field fan.

The team, the style of play grew on me, and I am a huge Hoya fan for over 10 years now. When Georgetown came and played at VaTech, I rooted for the Hoyas. I want the days of Mark Tillmon, Dwayne Bryant, and company back when everyone feared the Hoyas.

Faithful Hoya fan since '80. Follow the recruiting scene heavy, esp. in the New York metropolitan area. Unfortunately a cold spot for the Hoyas, saw A.P. in his high school championship game, what a leader he was. A frequent visitor to the board, posted a couple times a month but not since the password was instituted.

Hey, I have been a hoya fan since 1967. now then that gives me over thirty years of watching the G-men. Been some good years and some bad but hopefully we are on our way back to the very top.I'm talking champions once again. By me being born in G-town hospital I have G-Town blood running threw my viens, always have and always will be a hoya 4 life. So with that being said and growing up in the DC area hopefully I can find someone who loves the Hoyas like I do.

I graduated from the College in 1992. I began following the Hoyas when Ewing was a freshman and I have been hooked ever since. Favorite moments include Big Don Reid's tip in vs. Weber State, George Butler's amazing 3 at the buzzer to send (I think) Georgia Tech to OT (we won the game) and any game against 'Cuse or UConn with Joey Brown. Worst memory is from Ray Allen in the Big East Final - to this day, it smarts. Ooohh, it smarts.

I have seen it all!! Been there, seen it, did it all except for...Seattle 84. My one sporting event regret. Going back to BaBa and Lonnie, Big Sky and Sherman Hawkins. Manley Field House Finale!! Eddie and Smitty on the softball team, Ewing HS press conference announcing GU, Elvado at 5 am, Bull quitting, sharing notes with Sleepy, kicked out of Philly Naval Club, Kaull spraining ankle in dunk ball. Great days. Great times. Trying now to get back into it, but years of watching offensive ineptitude have taken their toll. Please, Esh, a shooter or two!!! Loved Reggie and the Miracles, John Turner, Mutombo and Zo (why did they only play 5 minutes together in 89 Regional Final???), Dwayne, Victor and Jerome, Othella, AI and beginning to like some of Esh's recruits. Sure would have liked to see Scruggs play more last year. Big East Semis is still the best. Especially for a married man!!!

Hi my name is Rob and I go by the nickname of Pomp. I am 19 years old and I am from Rhode Island. I got to school at Stonehill College in MA. I have loved the GTOWN basketball team for as long as I have followed college basketball which has been since I was about 11 or 12. I don't know when or why I decided that they were my favorite team in the nation, but I always have. I remember when I was younger playing basketball in my living room on a Dr. J's 7-foot slammer and pretending I was Charles Smith, Dikembe, and Alonzo. I remember watching Big East tournaments at an early age while yelling and screaming for the Hoyas. Every time GTOWN has come to Providence, I have been there. I was even there for the infamous GTOWN-Princeton game.

I take great pride in aggravating PC fans. Last year when GTOWN swept PC for the season, my brother and I brought brooms to the game. I love them HOYAS. Even though I am from RI, people must be wondering why I don't root for PC or URI. I don't have an answer. For some reason, I have always loved the teams that people from my area of supposed to hate. Oh well. My favorite GTOWN player of all time is Dikembe Mutombo followed closely by Othella Harrington. I even taped Dikembe the other night when he was on Conan..

I am a big St.John's fan who has disliked but always respected the Hoyas.Been following SJU since the late 70's, so I remember the great battles with the Hoyas, especially when the Big East was first formed. Who can forget in 1980 when Reggie Carter nailed a baseline jumper to steal a win at McDonough, or '84 when Chris Mullin poured in 33 pts. to close out the Hoyas at the Cap Centre. Incidently that was the last game you guys lost that year, as the Hoyas ran the table to claim the '84 NCAA title. Of course in '85 our 66-65 victory at the Cap Centre that snapped GU's 29 game winning streak as SJU wrestled away the #1 ranking for six weeks. That was short lived as you guys sent us home packing from Rupp Arena at the Final Four. Too bad those days are gone, but hopefully the Big East will be back.

Graduated from CAS '97, currently in grad school at U Maryland, continuing my lifelong, often tormented addiction to the Hoyas. I'm originally from Bethesda, and grew up with a family alumni connection to Georgetown that continues to this day. One of my first Hoya memories was a bad one: Fred Brown in the Superdome. Luckily, two years later I had one of my best memories: Patrick and Michael G. in the Kingdome slammin' the jammas. Best obscure memory from college days: Kevin Millen's dunk against Xavier on St. Patty's day 1995. Worst memory: Sitting in the stands in Georgia Dome at the UMass game 1996.

I have loved the Hoyas since I was old enough to care, in the early 80's. I would have to say one of the most stressful periods of my life was the NCAA game against Princeton in 89. And one of the best moments of my life was when Charles Smith drove the length of the court against the Orangemen at the Carrier Dome to win the game. That was in 87-88 I think. Oh yeah, I am stuck living in Syracuse, NY.

I'm a loyal fan that has had season tickets to Georgetown since 1983. I do my best to keep up with Georgetown basketball as much as possible which includes watching many Kenner league games as well as surfing the net to keep track of our potential recruits. I have read the messages on this board for awhile and just decided it would be fun to join in on some of the discussions.

I have been a Hoya fan since 1989, when I learned that the Hoyas were getting Alonzo Mourning. I love the art of the blocked shot, so when I heard that he had 27 of them in an AAU game, I knew I would like him. Overall, I just love the hustle of this team. I guess I play the same way...cuz I don't have much talent.

Favorite moment : Of course it's Alonzo Mourning's blocked shot of Kit Muller from Princeton during the closing moments of the 1989 first round NCAA tournament game. Worst moment : Seeing that same team (no 1 in the country), get beat by Duke, with Laettner outplaying Mourning and Phil Henderson dunking on Mourning's head. Let's share news and stories.
